LUKE BRYAN SURPRISED WITH CRASH MY PARTY DOUBLE PLATINUM ALBUM NEWS AT NO. 1 PARTY
While celebrating four back-to-back No. 1 hits last week, Capitol’s Luke Bryan was surprised by UMG Nashville Chairman & CEO Mike Dungan with the news that his record-breaking album, Crash My Party is now RIAA-certified Double Platinum.
Crash My Party debuted Aug. 2013 at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart selling over 528,000 right out of the gate. The album contains title track “Crash My Party,” a double platinum-selling, three-week No. 1; “That’s My Kind of Night,” a double platinum-selling, No. 1; “Drink A Beer,” a platinum-selling three-week No. 1; and “Play It Again,” a platinum-selling four-week No. 1.
In addition to the unprecedented four weeks at No. 1 on the country music radio airplay charts, current single “Play It Again” is the top song on the Slacker Top 40 – an all-genre chart pulled from total plays, shares and likes across all listeners on the digital streaming service, Slacker.com. Bryan is the first country artist ever to top the chart.
