Luke the 2009 honorary chairman for National Hunting and Fishing Day
Luke Bryan's passion for singing and songwriting is only rivaled by his passion for hunting and fishing. A passion that has recently landed him a gig as the 2009 honorary chairman for National Hunting and Fishing Day taking place September 26 - a week before his upcoming album release. Past chairmen include actors, entertainers and sports stars like Wade Boggs, Tom Seaver, John Havlicek, Arnold Palmer, Terry Bradshaw and many others.The National Hunting and Fishing day was initiated by Congress in 1972 with the goal of celebrating responsible hunting and fishing practices. The organization reports that hunting and fishing licenses generate more than $1.75 billion per year which goes towards conservation of fish, wildlife and habitat.
Right now Luke's aim is clearly on getting new music out to his fans. Doin' My Thing, Luke's sophomore release, features his current chart climbing hit "Do I" and will hit stores on October 6.
"I can�t wait for my fans to hear my new record," says Bryan. "I have wrapped 3 years of touring, hard work and most importantly meeting fans and I think all of that growth is reflected on this album. Doin' My Thing will make my die hard fans very happy and hopefully will reach out and grab some new fans. I am very proud of the music on this album and can�t wait to get it out there!"
For fans that can't wait to get their hands on Luke's new music, it's likely he's playing a concert near you. Lukes playing an average of 3-4 shows a week at fairs and festivals all over the U.S. from now right up to the day his new album hits stores.
