ON THE BILLBOARD COUNTRY ALBUMS CHART
Bryan�s Single �All My Friends Say� Jumps Six Spots Landing In The Top 10 This Week
Nashville, TN � August 27, 2007 � Luke Bryan has spent two straight weeks criss-crossing the country promoting the launch of his debut album I�LL STAY ME. All of his hard work has paid off with sales just shy of 25,000 albums sold the first week, putting him at No. 2 on the Billboard country albums chart behind Taylor Swift. His excitement was just capped off today by finding out that his single �All My Friends Say� jumped SIX spots on both charts putting him in to the Top 10 on the country singles charts (from #13 to #7 on the R&R charts and #14 to #8 on Mediabase.)
�Before I went out on this album launch tour, everyone at Capitol Records and many of my artist friends prepared me for what to expect during the album launch,� said Luke Bryan. �I was told to be prepared to be exhausted, to be prepared to lose my voice from talking and singing so much but no one ever prepared me for how excited I would be! This has been an amazing two weeks and it couldn�t have all come together so well.�
In the last two weeks Bryan has not shied away from the work needed to make sure his fans knew the album was in stores � he played 10 shows, visited radio stations, signed for hours and hours after in-store performances, was up at the crack of dawn to perform on local market television, and put in hours of interviews all the while logging thousands of airline and bus miles. He started out in his home state of Georgia the day before release and traveled to Atlanta, Athens and Albany before heading to Tampa Bay, Minneapolis, Raleigh, Phoenix, San Francisco, San Jose, Grand Rapids, Nashville (for the Capitol Pub Crawl), Charlotte and still on the books Philadelphia.
Reviews, features and mentions ran in the pages of USA Today, People Magazine, Billboard, Country Weekly, Los Angeles Times, Associated Press, Dallas Morning News, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Houston Chronicle, Music Connection and Albany Herald, just to name a few. GAC and CMT came out in full force to support Bryan with the launch of I�LL STAY ME.
Even before his first Capitol Records Nashville single, �All My Friends Say,� had been sent to country radio, Bryan was already earning significant media attention, including being named one of Billboard magazine�s new faces to watch in 2007. He was the only country music performer selected for the honor. Bryan was also included in Country Weekly�s �Who�s Hot in 2007� feature and the single was chosen as an iTunes �Discovery Download� of the week.
At the same time, Bryan�s second major cut as a songwriter�Billy Currington�s �Good Directions��was quickly climbing the country airplay charts and eventually hit the top spot on the country singles charts in May 2007 giving the Georgia native his first #1 song � as a songwriter. Bryan�s first major cut was the title track to Travis Tritt�s �Honky Tonk History.�
