Nashville (Sept. 8, 2009) Capitol Records Nashville artist Luke Bryan has just announced his inaugural Farm Tour show on October 5 in Statesboro, Georgia. The brainstorm for the Farm Tour concept came from Bryan as a way to give back to a charity or organization in local farming communities. These special one-off shows will continue throughout Bryans career with additional dates already planned for 2010. Further details on these Farm Tour shows will be announced at a later time. GACs Top 20 will film their show on site in Statesboro.
Being from a rural farming community, the Farm Tour is something I have envisioned for a very long time, says Bryan. I love the thought of setting up on a farm and building our own little world, starting small and growing it each time. We can never do enough to bring awareness to the hard working farmers of this country.
The October 5 Farm Tour event will be staged at Hurricane Plantation in Claxton, Georgia, a suburb of Statesboro, with monies raised going to a scholarship fund for students at Georgia Southern University, Bryans alma mater. Tickets are available online Thursday, September 10 at lukebryan.com and also hard tickets available September 12 at Harrys BBQ & Seafood in Hagan, GA. Great American Country will film the Top 20 Countdown Show from the show.
The first-ever Farm Tour show is also the kick-off for Bryans Doin My Thing album launch where he plans to head to multiple cities in a two week timeframe to meet his fans and play new music. Doin My Thing is due in stores October 6.
Bryan had a career making 2008 with two major award nominations including a CMT Breakthrough Video of the Year nomination and his first nomination from the Academy of Country Music for Best New Male Artist. He was also chosen as Billboards 2007 country artist to watch and landing on Best of 2007 lists for: Chicago Tribune, Atlanta Journal Constitution, Clear Channel Online Music & Radio to name a few. Bryan has been part of three major tours before this year's Miller Lite tour with some of country musics biggest artists in 2008 - Kenny Chesneys Poets & Pirates stadium dates, Trace Adkins American Man tour and Dierks Bentleys Throttle Wide Open tour.
