Luke Bryan Does His Thing at Joeï¿½s Bar

Capitol Nashville recording artist Luke Bryan packed the house in its entirety on Tuesday October 13th, 2009 for a one of a kind intimate show to celebrate the release of his sophomore album, ï¿½Doinï¿½ My Thing.ï¿½

If the volume of dedicated music fans present was any indication of just how popular Luke Bryan has become since his 2007 debut record ï¿½Iï¿½ll Stay Me,ï¿½ this show was a sure sign that his many years of hard work have definitely paid off.

Opening the show for Luke was fellow label mate, blonde bombshell Emily West! Most know Emily for her flamboyant and upbeat hit tune, ï¿½Rocks In Your Shoes.ï¿½ Keeping the audience pleasantly engaged with her bubbly persona and irresistible wit, Emily absolutely kicked off the show with a bang!!

After Emilyï¿½s portion of the show, fans anxiously awaited for Luke to take the stage. Nearing the ten oï¿½ clock hour, Lukeï¿½s band began to play the introduction to ï¿½Doinï¿½ My Thingï¿½ which resulted in continuous cheers and applause from the crowd.

Luke greeted his fans with a warm welcome and a handful of hits such as ï¿½Good Directions (Written by Luke and recorded by Billy Currington),ï¿½ ï¿½You Make Me Want To,ï¿½ ï¿½Babyï¿½s On The Way,ï¿½ and everybodyï¿½s favorite ï¿½Country Man!!ï¿½

Bringing his southern charm, rowdy demeanor, good looks for the ladies and lovable personality, Luke offered each and every individual in the audience a reason to connect with him on a more personal level.

Performing six out of the twelve tracks from the new record, ï¿½Doinï¿½ My Thing,ï¿½ ï¿½Welcome To The Farm,ï¿½ ï¿½What Country Is,ï¿½ ï¿½Rain Is A Good Thing,ï¿½ ï¿½Do I (The debut smash single),ï¿½ and ï¿½I Did It Againï¿½ gave the audience a virtual look inside the album.

Taking the audience back to the songs from his freshman album ï¿½Iï¿½ll Stay Me,ï¿½ Luke supplied a hefty mixture of tunes such as ï¿½We Rode In Trucks,ï¿½ ï¿½Pray About Everything,ï¿½ and the feel good song ï¿½All My Friends Say.ï¿½ Nothing makes an artist feel better than having their audience sing along to each and every line of their songs, and that is what took place for most the majority of the show.

Mixing up the night with covers of popular songs from various genres of music, Luke performed his take on versions of One Republicï¿½s ï¿½Apologize,ï¿½ legendary group Alabamaï¿½s ï¿½Mountain Music,ï¿½ the Nitty Gritty Dirt Bandï¿½s ï¿½Fishinï¿½ In The Dark,ï¿½ Brooks & Dunnï¿½s ï¿½Play Something Countryï¿½ and Joe Diffieï¿½s classic ï¿½Pickup Man.ï¿½

A delightful Gospel medley of ï¿½Iï¿½ll Fly Awayï¿½ and ï¿½I Saw The Lightï¿½ added a pleasant spiritual touch to the show that featured a sensational performance on the fiddle by Kristy Jo.

It seemed fitting for Luke to return to smaller venues and clubs for his album release party tour because it was in these exact venues that Luke initially got his start playing to sold-out crowds in southern Georgia before becoming one of country musicï¿½s brightest stars.

Towards the end of the evening Emily West returned to the stage to join Luke for a song or two, while she carelessly danced around the stage as Luke performed. Luke closed out the show with the hilarious ï¿½Take My Drunk Ass Home.ï¿½ The show ended at 11:30pm.
