Origins: Luke Bryan Tells a Story of Hard Work and Big Payoff
Its taken Luke Bryan more than five years to accelerate a career that now includes multiple #1 hits and industry awards and he wouldnt change a thing. All the success Ive been blessed with has not been an automatic thing, Bryan says in Origins: Luke Bryan, premiering Wednesday, September 15, 10:00 p.m./Eastern on Great American Country. I wouldnt have wanted to do it any other way and dont know if Id have been prepared for it to have happened any faster.
Some of those who know him best Capitol Nashville chief Mike Dungan and producer Jeff Stevens also weigh in with their observations of the affable star. Hes fearless and has the heart of a lion, Dungan says. When he hits that stage hes going to own that audience by a certain point in the show and will stop at nothing to get it done. Stevens agrees, The way Luke connects with an audience is a little bit of a throwback because it is so connected with the people and his smile radiates the room and is infectious. I think thats one of the things that makes him so likeable.
Its not just writing and performing that keeps Bryan busy, hes involved in all aspects of his career. His Spring Break Tour, for example, was the perfect place to perform some songs that while theyd never make one of his mainstream albums were perfect for the college crowd. So much music is available to fans these days that its critical to constantly be giving them new stuff, he explains. The fact that we were able to put a bit of a theme on it made it more fun. And the singers current Farm Tour pays tribute to his upbringing in Leesburg, GA. The whole idea for the Farm Tour was because I grew up in a small town and we never had big concerts come to town, he says. Were going to keep finding small communities and keep building the Farm Tour; in the end I also want to bring awareness to the American farmer and do my little part to highlight their lives.
Viewers will also be treated to full band performances of Country Man, Do I, All My Friends Say, Drinkin Beer and Wastin Bullets, and Someone Else Calling You Baby as well as footage from his Farm Tour and Spring Break Tour.
